FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Planet Ocean Underwater Hotels — USA–UAE Initiative has detailed the design of its vertical transit system, which allows safe movement between the surface vessel and the underwater habitat without exposing occupants to marine pressure changes.
Six glass elevators operate inside a 16-foot-diameter steel shaft, providing physical protection from external forces while allowing passengers to visually experience descent and ascent. The elevator shaft is structurally isolated from the surrounding marine environment, preventing direct interaction with marine life and protecting transparent components.
This design ensures rapid, controlled access between surface and underwater spaces, supporting emergency evacuation, daily operations, and scientific activity. HVAC air circulation is integrated through opposing elevator shafts, maintaining stable air quality throughout the underwater concourse.
The elevator system is engineered to operate under one-atmosphere conditions, maintaining consistent internal pressure and eliminating decompression requirements for all occupants.
